A portrait of a sheep

Posted by Wayne (Melbourne, Australia) on 24 January 2007 in People & Portraits.

miniHafoo(the name's a longer story for another day) was my travel mascot and partner in crime on my solo backpacking trip around New Zealand.

The difficulty of travelling alone, I find, is the inability to take a photo with myself in it and to get it framed up exactly the way I want it to appear. So if the mountain will not come to Mohammed then Mohammed must go to the moutnain...and miniHafoo was pressed into service =D. So after having done about a long month on the road with me, its currently living off a healthy pension and spends the rest of its days lounging with my legal textbooks on my bookshelf. (Just between you and me...I was better company).

I was trying to get a refreshing feel with the early dawn light. I wasn't able to get the photo as sharp as I liked but in an ultra compact its hard to control these things. I'm pretty happy with the way the shot turned out as the bus interior created lines which drew towards the centre and miniHafoo.
