I'm a huge fan of speeches....and I'm a huge fan of good speech writing...which also makes me a huge fan of the West Wing...for among other things...it's got some really great speeches.
In a tone similar to the great General Douglas MacArthur's Duty, Honor, Country speech delivered at West Point...President Bartlet (of the West Wing) made a speech after a domestic terrorist attempt at a swimming meet.
And it's the power of speech that gets me going =)
So here now are some excerpts from said speech.
' We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.....every time we think we have measured our capacity to meet a challenge, we look up and we're reminded that that capacity may well be limitless....We will do what is hard We will achieve what is great.'
This photo sorta reminded me of that speech...more on possibilities and less on capacities...but nevertheless still...the limitless quality of having one doorway after another doorway after another doorway.
Happy Thursday everyone =D

This is fabulous. The colours, the texture, the details and the composition are just beautiful.
