I love columns...they convey such silent grandeur and strength. They hold up high ceilings under which men of all walks have discussed things from the mundane to the lofty heights of intellectual reasoning and have contained within them thoughts both morally dank and dark as well as those that raise the moral capital of humankind.
But to me always, in my mind's eye, columns such as these will forever be a bastion of strength and honour. Of military discipline (strangely enough) and of dignity. Which in the end is all I ask of myself in the performance of my duties.

This building reminds me of..the Old Supreme Court building facing the Padang back home.

If I didn't know better I'd say you took this from the steps of the Northampton county courthouse here in Easton. I have a few shots that look just like this one. It really made me do a double take ! Good shot !
