I'm especially pleased with this portrait...I think it successfully conveys Sam's gentle nature as well as her love for photography. She's just nothing short of amazing.
I find that I'm gradually getting better at my portrait work...and of course my new 50 mm f1.4 lens does help majorly if not entirely =D.

@Treeeeesh: Haha thanks Tricia =) I'll try to...most people feel uncomfortable with a lens (or anything else for that matter) pointed directly at them.
Hey Wayne! Good to 'see' you again! Hope things are going better.
I like this portrait as well. She looks very focused but gentle look about her. Nice work.

@Shrig: Thanks Shrig =) It's good to be back and things are on the up and up....I guess everyone's gotta go through some rain once in awhile =)
you've really captured a good one here. i like how the light from her LCD is gently illuminating her face. that's what i call creative lighting haha

@Joshua Chan: Haha yeah I like that too...I originally caught it on colour and saw how the LCD was lighting up her face but I figured a sepia tone as opposed to a color or a monochrome tone would fit the shot better. I'm glad it turned out the way it did =)
By the way you have to teach me how to use lightroom or photoshop...also I would like to learn more from you in just about every area of photography =D
Beautiful!! Your treatment of the b/w conversion is spot on!!
