This is Ai Mee take at the haircutting/fundraising/dinner gathering I described in the last post.
I like this image because it captures the life and vibrancy that Ai Mee exudes. Plus...although my photos are not worthy of National Geographic standards...it really reminds me of those National Geographic shots on human interest pieces. I could go on forever on how National Geographic has been so influential not just in the way I shoot or even why I want to shoot but how I even approach life and the world around me.
I'm flying off today from Melbourne back to Singapore. Its always a weird time for me...more so because today I'm also shifting house....which is a first for me in terms of having the two event occur on the same day. I've been preparing all my gear to be shipped across for the transfer and in my mind's eye I liken it very much to the signing of a contract and the due dilligence that follows before. I will forever remember how my mentor at Allen & Gledhill described the whole process because that's when I got hooked onto corporate law. Personally I think its like prisoner exchange =) Everyone makes slow tentative moves until the actual exchange and when it happens...everyone stays calm until both prisoners have reached their sides and then everyone quickly scampers off into the darkness and retreating to the safety of their battlelines. Of course the analogy fails if related to long-term input contracts but that's a whole other barrel of pickles.

@Tricia: i had the trifecta of bad plane rides.... 1) School Groups 2) Crying Baby 3) Non-english speaking passengers on my sides = no conversations
BUT on the up and up, a dear friend of mine picked me up from the airport in her HYBRID CAR! HOW COOOL IS THAT?

In truth however, I'm glad to have been rid of the Aussie flies for at least a month =)
Wow, fabulous portrait yet again!! You have a wonderful way of capturing expressiveness. Very best of wishes for your move back to Singapore and exciting times ahead! Godspeed and God bless. :)

@Rebecca: Thanks for your comment Rebecca =) I've moved house in Melbourne (where I reside in for the better part of the year) and I'm flew back to Singapore (which is my home country) for a month long internship at a law firm there. Thank you for your well-wishes =D I hope things get less hectic for you =D
Heh, just read Tse Min's comment. Trip back to S'pore, not move then, would be more accurate it seems. ;) Exciting times ahead nevertheless, I'm sure. And Godspeed and God bless still apply. :)
