Phaik Wah and Winnie at Opera in the BowlPosted by Wayne (Melbourne, Australia) on 8 December 2007 in People & Portrait. Opera in the Bowl is a free open air Opera sponsored by Australian Post (Good on them!) held near the Royal Botanical Gardens at the Sidney Myer Music bowl. This year's performance was Georges Bizet's Les Pecheurs de perles (The Pearlfishers) and for me (and most others) the highlight would've been the duet between the tenor and the baritone 'Au fond du temple saint'. So if you weren't there...click here for the youtube video of a version by Alagna & Terfel...and click here for the lyrics and translation. Enjoy! I particularly love the expressions of Alagna and his opening. Winnie's a fashion designer studying at RMIT and Phaik Wah's a financial whiz reading Commerce at UniMelb.
