Preparing the Crabs

Posted by Wayne (Melbourne, Australia) on 3 March 2008 in Food & Cuisine.

This was made quite a while ago at a dinner in the middle of winter. As much as I like eating crabs (VERY MUCH SO)...preparing them is positively gross...there these things informally called dead man's fingers (they're the the filtering lungs of the crab or something akin to that) that take FOREVER to come off. But...at the end of the day...its well-worth the effort.

For the next few days, this blog will be more or less on auto-pilot while I migrate over from a windows-based world to that of Apple. I've finally had it with Vista...I initially stuck with it out of some misguided and misplaced loyalty...but enough's enough and I decided on the whole Mac, while not exactly that great, is definitely much better than a vista system.

Next up...the actual dish.
